Go Fish - Card Game Rules

"Happy Safari" is a variation on Go Fish
and can be played with Classic and Junior packs

Go Fish is best played with 3 to 6 players, but it is possible for 2 to play.

The object of the game is to collect the most sets of 4 cards.

A standard 52 card pack is used and each player is dealt 5 cards with the remaining cards placed face down to form a stock pile.

The player to the dealer's left starts by asking a specific player for a specific rank. The player may only ask for a rank that they hold. For example, if John already holds a Queen he might ask Ann: 'Please give me your queens'.

If the player who was asked (Ann in this example) has any cards of the rank asked for (Queens in this example), they must hand them all over to the player who asked for them. That player (John in this example) gets another turn and may again ask any player for any rank provided that he holds a card of that rank.

If the person asked (Ann) does not have any cards of the named rank, they say 'Go Fish' and the asker (John) must then take the top card from the stock pile. If the drawn card is the rank asked for, the asker shows all the players that is was the same rank, keeps it and then gets another turn. If the drawn card is not the rank asked for, the asker must still keep the card but the turn now passes to the player who said 'Go Fish' (Ann in this example).

As soon as a player collects all 4 cards of the same rank they show the other players and then place them, face down, in front of them.

The game ends when any player runs out of cards in their hand or the stock pile runs out.
